Early in 2020, the country and the world at large came under the grip of the pandemic and lockdowns that pulled the rug out from under the lives of many. As countless people began to despair and look for answers and hope, Nathan turned to the keyboard and began to seek answers through music. Making use of the layered modern hybrid sounds of worship keys combined with orchestral and cinematic synth instruments, Nathan created a rich and varied texture to suit the mood and inspiration of each track.
The first piece, “A time to Heal” came out in March, and each one thereafter continued to draw inspiration from the mood of the country. “Frozen in the Moment” reflected an unseasonably long cold spell and lockdowns that extended long past people’s initial expectations. “Room to Breathe” was both a response to both the tragic death of George Floyd, and the general feeling expressed by many who were tired of the extended mask orders. Others such as “Evolving Momentum” reflect a more pulsed, major key optimistic upbeat feel that transform the listener to a place of restoration, renewal and hope for a better future when we can put the pandemic and lockdowns behind us and renew our lives with a brighter, energetic future.
